Rocker Selection

Everyone knows how important rocker is to the performance of a surfboard. US Blanks offers custom rockers to be made at no charge, including private rocker templates.

While our master plugs were designed with a Natural Rocker that fits a variety of designs, we know that individual style and design will require adjustments.

At US Blanks we use the deck line to adjust rocker, and all adjustments are referenced to the Natural Rocker. If desired we can adjust rocker to the bottom. Adjustments can be made from almost any point on a blank and from one blank size to another. Unless instructed, all rocker adjustments will be made from the center of the blank. If the adjustment is made from a point other than center, the adjustment point will be part of the description. Rockers transferred from one blank size to another will require a match point. Radical rocker adjustments may result in bumps or dips created in the deck line.

Private rocker templates will be named and used only upon permission of the owner.

Ernie shapes! Not only is he the best & hardest working delivery man in foam business, he's a talented craftsman. Here he used the #64EA with colored foam and 4mm plywood stringer to shape a couple killer shortboards for a local grom. What can't Ernie do?
"There is always learning involved when you work with another good shaper. Each shaper seems to have their own techniques . . . When you watch how another shaper arrives at a certain way of forming the rails . . . it can trigger you to change your technique or give you ideas on how to do something neither of you are doing. It challenges you to be open minded." Tom Parrish on "Tag Team" shaping a board with Kike Panera in Spain. Tom told us about his Tag Team concept, where he and another shaper take 30 minute turns shaping a board, often erasing one another's work, collaborating through the process and creating a shared design. In this case, they built an 8'4" Semi Gun to be surfed around the Basque region. The full story is on our blog. @stylingsurf #TomParrish #85A
