Blank Pictures

The wire frame diagrams presented in this catalog are derived from the master plugs and are drawn on a scale of 1:12 for blank sizes shorter than 8’0”, and 1:16 for blank sizes 8’0” and longer. The rocker is taken from the “natural” rocker template and is also to scale. These measurements should enable you to pick the optimum size blank for each board.

Since the measurements are taken from the master plugs, you may find the actual measurements of the blanks vary slightly. This is due to the use of mold release, unpredictable shrinkage during molding, rail fill and rough rails. All of these factors can cause slight measurement variations from blank to blank.
Volume measurements are also listed for each blank size. These measurements are calculated using the Shape 3D scan method created from the original plugs. Shape 3D files for each blank size are also available upon request. Please call our office for more details.

To help in identifying current rocker trends we have listed some of the most popular “public rockers” for each particular blank size.

Producing foam blanks is fairly redundant. All the color and spice happens after the blanks leave our factory. Thankfully we have Instagram to see you're work. Over the past 4 weeks we've been tagged in over 400 photos and we've collected them all to be viewed as a collection on our blog. Thank you for sharing! @rawsonsurfboard shaped these replicas of the 1991 "snap-heard-around-the-world" board for @thomasvictorcarroll. Tommy's riding the 7'8" (on the right) in his #HeritageSeries heat right now at the #BillabongPipeMasters. Everyone wins!

Colored foam! Did you see Dean Edwards' Bonefish board on our blog? It's made exclusively from offcuts of 47 different blanks! Repurposed and upcycled. #BlankCanvas
Just discovered @velzysurfboards Instagram! Definitely worth a follow. His history cannot possibly fit into one post, but at least we can see occasional snapshots. Among his contributions to surfing, he co-designed (with George Downing) our #113DG. #tbt
Nearly need a fish-eye to fit 14' of foam in the frame. @fiberglasshawaii #EPS #BlankCanvas
The Bonefish by Dean Edwards: comprised of over 1,000 different offcuts from 47 different colored blanks, collected over the course of 10 years and glued-up over the past 2 years. The entire board (except for the resin) was built from material that was headed to the landfill. "The fins are plywood and fiberglass scrap. Even the sandpaper was previously used!" Dean's goal was to inspire others to re-purpose waste and attempt to reduce what we use. More photos and full story are on our blog. #RecycleReduceReuse
A few blanks went out this week. Thank you for that. Have a great weekend! Also, how incredible is the Sunset Beach event right now? Go Dusty! #vtcs
